This is a part-time remote position. If you are looking for a full-time position, supplemental income along with your current full-time position, or if you do not want a 1099 position, this is not the role for you.
The pay rate starts at $30/hour with 5+ years of experience. We consider our team members for regular pay rate increases, every 6 months, between the range of $30-35/hour.
Responsibilities may include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising a variety of legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and agreements.
- Conducting legal research and summarizing findings to support attorney analysis and case preparation.
- Assisting attorneys with case management, document preparation, and matter organization across multiple practice areas.
- Organizing and maintaining legal files, case records, and document management systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Preparing internal and external correspondence, including reports, memoranda, and client communications.
- Managing attorneys’ calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines.
- Monitoring and tracking critical deadlines, including court filings, case milestones, and other legal obligations.
- Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties as needed.
- Assisting with electronic filing (e-filing) in state and federal courts where applicable.
- Supporting attorneys with trial preparation, discovery organization, and document review when required.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adherence to ethical and professional standards in all legal matters.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department.
- Solid understanding of general legal procedures, case management, and legal documentation across a variety of practice areas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, with the ability to quickly learn firm-specific software and case management systems.
- Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills, with the ability to track multiple matters simultaneously.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive legal information.
- Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and support attorneys across a range of legal matters.
